Okay. So far the PSN network has been for a cool 48 hours. Given the fact that it’s an Easter break and most people had Good Friday off I’m sure the traffic would’ve been higher than usual. Maintenance for a 3 day period (April 21st-April 23rd) during such a time (a holiday break) is insanity! Hopefully the guys at Sony can figure this out and get us all back online…All this time to think is making me wonder how my Xbox 360 has been doing lately…Maybe it’s time I hung out with it again…

im with ya buddy, been dying to play DCU Online as i finally have some time to myself. but i was thinking the same thing about my 360, cant remember the last game i played on it. was either Torchlight or Bulletstorm.
lol Halo 3 for me…Was always a halo buff… in any case It’s good to know somebody understands the pain of being deprived of DCU. I’ve been hooked lately lol not to mention I’m paying for the monthly subscription so it’d be nice to be able to get something for it haha.

It’s under threat of being hacked, sony put it into ‘hibernation’ or as there showing to the people ‘maintenance’ whilst they try to ‘get rid’ of the hackers.
It’s the 24th and it still ain’t fixed :/ must be pretty serious for whatever is going on. If psn is down do you still get game patch downloads btw guys? im going to go out and buy gta 4 for the ps3 (my xbox just died on me) ! and was just wondering

Yes, games still update. I picked up Mirror’s Edge a long time ago at a 2-for-1 sale but never installed it for some reason. Anyway, I did so just now to see if it’d patch, and it did.
Sony has to stop waisting money trying to stop hackers that will never stop, wile leavin legit members without psn… If sony didnt waist so much time and money finding hackers and updates every week (like nintendo/wii). .. This would never happen.
Gram, there’s different ideas on what’s been happening with PSN. People are blaming black outs in Japan are affecting it. Some people are saying hackers are the ones to blame, and yes their wasting money to solve this problem but you must understand as well as if hackers is the real reason it must be a pretty good group of hackers to shut down PSN randomly for a few days. Sony isn’t dumb. They wouldn’t ditch the gamers to solve a problem that’s not worth it. Think about it.
I don’t care that it happens…I care that it get’s fixed, maintenance for one or two hours is reasonable…Maintenance for multiple days is horrible lol

I own both! I might as well get acquainted with the system considering PSN has literally been down the entire holiday weekend…Rebuild or not the entire holiday break everybody lost out on on-line play, that’s ridiculous brother.

Guys, the real reason why PSN is having an outage this long is because PSN was hacked. Anonymous (Group of Hackers that made exploits for PS3 Jailbreaking.) Sony decided to have an outage to rebuild their system and strengthen network infrastracture. I don’t know why after all these years Sony finally took a hint to upgrade their system security. PSN will probably be up today later at night or Monday. Check it out.

I believe that it WAS, in fact, hackers… but I don’t believe Anonymous is behind it… on April 21st they claimed to have stopped because they realized their attack affected the customers of PSN and that’s not thair intention… so they say. Either they lied about that or another hacker group is going after them. Regardless, I hope it’s fixed, because for me it’s been day 5 without PSN… and my cell phone crapped out on me, so I’ve had no contact with friends for 5 days… T^T

well I will allwais stay with sony just 4 the simple reason FREE NETWORK and if CoD BO DLCs have a bit dellay in our console we desirve it, at least it is not free for XBOX to like in PC. It’s been almost a week since these stupid servers have been down. Sony says they might not be back online until Wednesday or on Friday. This is really pathetic, i have to play on my Xbox 360, how degrading.

Short story for those too lazy to click: Sony was hacked, apparently the main server could be accessed by an admin’s pc, so he got an email, opened it, and malicious software invaded the pc and the server attached to it. All 77 million users have had their information stolen, and PSN is still down.
IF YOU USED A CREDIT CARD ON PSN, CANCEL IT NOW! That was in caps to let you know if you didn’t read above, also I recommend changing passwords and security questions for all your logins for anything PSN related.
